The construction of the Mt. Agnes Water Treatment Plant at a cost of 1.4 million dollars will alleviate the absence of potable water to household thus keeping within the five (5) millennium goals with respect to sanitation.

Achieving the project objectives will further accomplish the World Health Organization’s standard for Water. Residents of serving communities are also reaping the benefits of this investment as the on – site staff of nineteen (19) represents 90% of the work force, all residents of the immediate vicinity.

With the construction of this new system, consumers as far as Red Gate in St. David can be served. The new system will be served by 2 dams and is expected to produce 250,000 gallons of water daily.

The site of the project has since been transformed from its original virgin, mountainous state to allow for the housing of this wonderful treatment plant structure.

Another Water Treatment Facility located in Spring Garden St. Andrew is currently under construction by the Authority.
