Background
The National Water & Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) Sports and Recreational Club was established in 1982 with approximately 40 members. The Club started travelling in 1988 and hosted the first Easter Festival in 1989.
The Club came about as a result of an initiative from the then General Manager Mr. Leroy Neckles who was noted for his sportsmanship. Other workers such as Mr. Julien Neptune, Glenroy Johnson, Edna Pascal, Valerie Stephenson, Raymond Thomas, Donna Latouche and others were instrumental in the establishment of the Club. The Club participated in Inter-sector Cricket and Football games and won the championship in 1983 against Customs. The first Executive President was Mr. Julien Neptune.
The Club became a member of the Caribbean Utilities Employers Association (CUEA) in 1989 and has been an active participant in yearly Easter festival over the years. The Club hosted the first ever Easter Festival in Grenada in1989 which was a resounding success.
The Club currently has a total of seventy-seven (77) members and has been engaging in several fund raising activities over the years to generate much needed funds.
The Clubs' official colours are blue and white.
The Annual General meeting of the Club is scheduled for on or before the 31st July in every year for the following purposes:
- To receive the written Report of the Executive, the Financial Report and the general concerns of the Club
- To elect the Officers, the Auditors and the members of the sub-committee for the ensuing year
- To consider any matter, notice of which has been given beforehand to the Secretary. A limited number of Executive Report shall be made available to General Membership.
Aims and Objectives
- To foster a closer relationship between all members of staff
- To participate in all games of social nature, competitive or otherwise, as shall be approved from time to time by the Executive
- To foster relations through exchange programmes with members of staff of various Water Authorities and other Utilities from the Caribbean and beyond.

Membership and Registration
The Club consist of:
- Employees of the National Water & Sewerage Authority (NAWASA)
- Former employees of the National Water & Sewerage Authority (NAWASA)
A registration fee of EC $5.00 is charged with a monthly subscription of $EC5.00.
Grenada Hosted 2008 Easter Festival
Over four hundred utility employees from across the Caribbean converged on the shores of Grenada as the Caribbean Utilities Employees Association (CUEA) staged its 19th Annual Easter Festival under the theme: "Caribbean integration through sports and culture on the spice isle."
Twelve countries participated in the Festival namely"- Anguilla, Monsterrat, Antigua, Nevis, Barbados, St. Lucia, Dominica, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and host country Grenada.
That was the third time since the staging of the Easter Festival that Grenada has played host to this prestigious event. The first being in 1989 and then again 1996. Grenada was the first country to host the event since the formal establishment of the CUEA in 1989.
The National Water and Sewerage Authority (NAWASA) and the Grenada Electricity Services Limited (GRENLEC) affiliates of the CUEA joined forces to organize and host a successful festival.
A number of activities were carried out for the Easter weekend and included a community project, an island tour, panel discussion and culture night at the Grenada Trades Centre, Sports Day at La Sagesse Park and a beach fiesta and day cruise.
Former Tourism Minister Honorable Clarice Modeste Curwen officially declared the festival open at the opening ceremony at the Grenada Trades Centre on March 20th. The festival officially wined down with the closing ceremony and prize giving function on March 24th also at the Grenada Trades Centre.
The CUEA Easter Festival is an initiative that fosters sharing of experiences and information of participating islands, giving of community service and presents an opportunity for delegates to socialize and learn about the different cultures of participating countries.
The Club thereafter has been actively involved in the Easter Festivals over the years and in the last three held in St. Vincent, St. Martin and Curacao respectively.
The 25th Anniversary of Easter Festival will be held in Trinidad and Tobago and the Club has more than over 40 participants attending the 2014 Festival.
